Harry Potter Preview

This is it, the beginning of the end. The first part of the last Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is coming to theaters this November. Harry Potter fans all over the world have been anticipating this moment for years. Some fans are excited for the closure they will feel once they finally see Harry’s story end. Others are heartbroken because this means the end of an era. Children who grew up reading the books are adults and teenagers now and a whole new generation is discovering the wonderful world created by author J.K. Rowling. The first part of The Deathly Hallows premiers this November 19, while Part II will be released on July 15, 2011. There was some uproar when it was first announced that the final book would be split into two different films. However, fans can agree that trying to squeeze the 800-some pages into a movie that can hold the attention of young viewers, and even some older ones, would have been a challenge. The familiar faces of David Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Ralph Fiennes and Alan Rickman have returned for the last installment. There may also see some faces that haven’t been seen in a while, like Mr. Ollivander, the owner of the wand shop on Diagon Alley. In Part I, Harry, Ron and Hermione are sent on a journey to find and destroy all of the Horcruxes that Voldemort, the most evil wizard in the world, created. Before Voldemort fell from power, he hid these objects in places he thought no one would ever find. Harry and his friends have to find out where they are hidden and then destroy them. Voldemort, however, is on his own quest too. Apart from sending his followers, or Death Eaters, to find Harry, he is also trying to uncover the forgotten Deathly Hallows. If found, the Deathly Hallows would give him complete power and the rest of the world would be doomed. It’s not all bad though, with a little help from Dumbledore and the glimpses of Voldemort’s quest that Harry gets occasionally, the gang is on a dark and dangerous adventure to not only save the wizarding world, but Muggles (non-magical folk), too. Die hard fans, and even newcomers, will enjoy this dark thriller. So take a step out of reality and into the magical world of Harry Potter this fall.
